Teeth whitening is one of the most common cosmetic treatments to brighten your smile quickly and effectively. Our Redlands, CA dental practice offers teeth whitening in various forms, including customized at-home trays, as well as in-office procedures. During a consultation with Dr. Steve Tatevossian, patients will learn about the options, and many prefer to use the gel trays so they can whiten their teeth in the privacy of their own home. Dr. Tatevossian will provide a prescription strength whitening gel that is applied daily. It typically takes about a month for the full results to appear.

Dr. Tatevossian is not only a great dentist but also a really great guy. His staff is very friendly and incredibly efficient. If you are not already a client/patient, you absolutely should be!"- D.A. / Google / May 17, 2018
"Absolutely a great Dentist and staff! Very efficient. I would highly recommend them!"- D.L. / Google / May 16, 2018
"Dr. T and his staff are amazing. The medical office which was transformed from a home is so quaint and welcoming. It does not feel like a medical office which is great for patients who are afraid of dentists. The staff is always informing you after what they are doing or what they are going to do. The office is up-to-date in technology. They try to be very accommodating. Complimentary coffee, tea or water and snacks. The patio is a great place to wait on a patient or wait in general. I would totally recommend Dr. T to family and friends."- W.S. / Google / May 03, 2018
"Since transferring to King House and Dr T, we have had all pleasant experiences. My family is very anxious of any dental work and King and Dr T ALWAYS make them feel comfortable. We will never leave King."- J.K. / Google / May 02, 2018
At the office, the dentist will make molds of the patient’s teeth to create a custom-made dental tray. These trays protect the gums from the whitening gel, as contact may be harmful and it also minimizes discomfort and irritation during the treatment. Once at home, the patient will fill the tray with prescription strength whitening gel and leave in for a designated amount of time, typically 45 minutes, each day. Some patients may see visible results after one treatment, but most patients need 2 – 4 weeks to see their full results.
Estimate of Cost
Teeth whitening can make a big difference to your smile and look. Depending on what type of whitening procedure you choose, the cost can vary. On average, this procedure is relatively affordable compared to other cosmetic dental treatments. In most cases, dental insurance does not cover teeth whitening.
Home Whitening FAQs
Benefits of Home Whitening?
Unlike over-the-counter teeth whitening products, home kits from the dentist use a higher quality and concentration of bleaching agent. Whitening kits from the dentist are also custom fit to the patient’s mouth, so they are more comfortable and whiten the teeth evenly.
Home teeth whitening kits are safe when patients follow all of the product instructions. The dentist may also have tips and recommendations to help the patient get their best results.
How Long Does It Take?
Home whitening treatments are usually worn for about 45 minutes a day, everyday, until the desired shade is achieved. Patients may use the kit for as little as one week or over a month. If the patient is not seeing the results they want, they should return to their dentist for other whitening options.
