Teeth whitening is one of the most common cosmetic treatments to brighten your smile quickly and effectively. Our Redlands, CA dental practice offers teeth whitening in various forms, including customized at-home trays, as well as in-office procedures. During a consultation with Dr. Steve Tatevossian, patients will learn about the options, and many prefer to use the gel trays so they can whiten their teeth in the privacy of their own home. Dr. Tatevossian will provide a prescription strength whitening gel that is applied daily. It typically takes about a month for the full results to appear.
"I Really Enjoy going to King House Dental... The staff are really friendly and honest on every visit."- P.B. / Yelp / Jan 17, 2017
"Dr T and staff are awesome! After a string of bad dental experiences throughout my life, it is so refreshing to have found King House dental (Redlands, Ca). Dr T is both a very skilled dentist and personable. He seems to sincerely care about your dental health. There is no hard sales of dental related products and services, which is typical with so many dentists these days. When costs do come up (which of course there are with any dentist), he speaks frankly about them, helps to prioritize the work and is sensitive about costs that are out of pocket. Highly recommend!"- R. / Google / Aug 08, 2019

At the office, the dentist will make molds of the patient’s teeth to create a custom-made dental tray. These trays protect the gums from the whitening gel, as contact may be harmful and it also minimizes discomfort and irritation during the treatment. Once at home, the patient will fill the tray with prescription strength whitening gel and leave in for a designated amount of time, typically 45 minutes, each day. Some patients may see visible results after one treatment, but most patients need 2 – 4 weeks to see their full results.
Estimate of Cost
Teeth whitening can make a big difference to your smile and look. Depending on what type of whitening procedure you choose, the cost can vary. On average, this procedure is relatively affordable compared to other cosmetic dental treatments. In most cases, dental insurance does not cover teeth whitening.
Home Whitening FAQs
Benefits of Home Whitening?
Unlike over-the-counter teeth whitening products, home kits from the dentist use a higher quality and concentration of bleaching agent. Whitening kits from the dentist are also custom fit to the patient’s mouth, so they are more comfortable and whiten the teeth evenly.
Home teeth whitening kits are safe when patients follow all of the product instructions. The dentist may also have tips and recommendations to help the patient get their best results.
How Long Does It Take?
Home whitening treatments are usually worn for about 45 minutes a day, everyday, until the desired shade is achieved. Patients may use the kit for as little as one week or over a month. If the patient is not seeing the results they want, they should return to their dentist for other whitening options.
