About Night Guards
Redlands, CA dentist, Dr. Steve Tatevossian, educates patients on teeth grinding and how it can negatively impact the oral health of his patients. Teeth grinding is common and affects approximately 10 – 15% of adults. It can lead to chipped teeth, movement, tooth pain, headaches, and other symptoms, which can end up damaging the teeth, leading to expensive dental problems. High quality, custom night guards, which can be fitting right in our office at King House Dental, then made at a professional dental library, can help patients overcome this condition, also known as bruxism. Night guard helps patients, who grind their teeth or clench their jaw while sleeping, so they can sleep better while protecting their teeth and jaw.
Night Guards Reviews
"A great practice and really appreciate the friendliness and professionalism of Dr. T and all of his staff. He also solved a sleep problem that I had by diagnosing a grinding of my teeth and the resulting pain in the neck (literally). He was the first dentist to have ever done that for me! They use the latest in all technologies."- D.W. / Yelp / Feb 04, 2014
What to Expect with Night Guards
During a dental appointment with Dr. Tatevossian, impressions are made of the upper and lower teeth, and then sent to our lab so the final device can be made. This custom-fit guard is sent back to our office where we work with the patient, ensuring that it fits properly and showing them how to care for it. Wearing the appliance nightly is important for the overall success of overcoming teeth grinding.
Night Guards Treatment Aftercare
The night guard can last for several years with proper home care. The patient should clean the mouth guard before and after each use. Depending on the type of material used when making the mouth guard, the dentist will give the patient more specific care instructions. Patients should bring their night guard to all future dental appointments so the dentist can check for general wear and decide when it needs to be replaced.
Night Guards PRICING
In many cases, dental insurance usually covers a portion of the cost for custom-night guards, especially when ordered by a dentist for teeth clenching. Compared to over-the-counter night guards, custom night guards are more expensive, but are usually more effective in curing and overcoming teeth grinding while sleeping.
