Are you one of the millions who get very anxious at that thought of a dentist coming near you with a drill? Does the phrase 'root canal' cause you to go into panic mode? At King House Dental in Redlands, CA, we offer the option of safe sedation dentistry. Nitrous oxide sedation, for example, is used for routine procedures, such as dental exams and cleanings, as well as during more complex treatments, such as fillings, crowns, and dental implants. Also referred to as laughing gas, Nitrous oxide is a gentle gas that is inhaled by the patient through a nosepiece shortly before and throughout their procedure. Sedation dentistry is a safe and comfortable way for you to avoid the anxiety that is often felt in the dentist chair. At King House Dental, we are closely monitored to ensure we follow regulations set forth by our governing body, the American Dental Association.
Nitrous Oxide Sedation Reviews
"I broke part of my tooth off. I was able to get in the same day and had a great experience. I am very anxious about going to the dentist and they were gentle and offered nitrous oxide. I would highly recommend King House to anyone with dental needs and especially those who are anxious about their visit."- D.K. / Google / Nov 24, 2015
"Going to the dentist is not my idea of a good time, but this was the best experience I've ever had. Dr. T and his staff do everything in their power to make it a pleasant visit. My appointment was first thing in the morning and i didn't have time for breakfast, but Dr. T insisted I run and grab a bite; he shuffled his schedule around, just so there wasn't a risk of the nitrous oxide making me nauseous. They even gave me an iPod with Bose headphones to block out the lovely sounds of drills and suction. I'll definitely be recommending this office to my friends and family."- O.N. / Yelp / Aug 10, 2011
"Doctor T. and his staff are trained in the latest and most effective technology available for dental health. Thanks to Dr. T.'s knowledge and expertise of oxygen treatments, my overall dental health is the best that it has been in over 20 years."- G.T. / Superpages / Nov 18, 2016
Prior to the procedure, the dentist will administer the nitrous oxide to through inhalation tube placed in the nose. The gas will continue to be administered throughout the procedure with the dentist and his staff monitoring and adjusting the level of sedation as needed. Nitrous oxide will help the patient remain relaxed and calm throughout the entire procedure, while remaining awake and coherent enough to follow the dentist’s instructions. Following the procedure, the nitrous oxide is turned off and the effects wear off quickly.
Estimate of Cost
The cost of nitrous oxide varies based on the amount used during the procedure, but it is generally inexpensive. A large majority of our patients use this type of sedation dentistry and find the low cost well worth it.
